Tel Aviv University showed a consistent capability in creating long term vision. Among the main TAU objectives, TAU management included interaction with industry, multidisciplinary activities, entrepreneurship and international relations. TILabs is launched in order to support TAU vision.
TILabs is focused on the applied research component of TAU activity with a full respect and support to the basic research component. TAU achievements are well known, and its researchers and alumni are the backbone of the innovation and startup spirit of Israel. Having said that, TILabs will provide an additional engine for enhancing the applied research activity in TAU.
TILabs will act as a direct continuation of a promising basic research innovation and will bridge the gap to the real world including the Hi-Tech industry. It will include unusual concepts and discipline combinations that unifying them together will provide an unexpected result.
TILabs includes a central laboratory facility with a dozen of discipline laboratories that will work in a synchronized and harmonic mode and with an intensive visibility to the real world.
TILabs will be supported by a set of partners from the relevant active industries as well as by reviewed research grants associated with the laboratory managers.
IP will be shared with the supporting partners and TILabs offers a unique model to create an intensive fruitful dialogue with the industry.
